Casa
Marita is an authentic mexican hacienda in a preserved,
traditional community. Away from the mega resorts and high
tourist traffic you will enjoy a unique experience among
the locals of Isla
de la Piedra.
Casa Marita is situated in a large beach sand yard right
on La Playita, a small, sleepy, fishing harbour. From the
shade of the coconut, lime and mango trees you can relax
in the yard and enjoy the scenery. Watch the cruise
ship, and boats come in and the plentiful birdlife including
pelicans,
white egrets, hawks and herons.
There
is a fire stove in the yard where you can cook up your fresh
caught fish.
The
property is fenced and can be accessed by foot from the
harbour side or vehicle around front. Their is a car spot
for your vehicle. The hacienda is locked and secure so you
can be sure your belongings are safe. The neighbours are
friendly and very helful although speak only spanish.
Casa
Marita is 2 floors plus 2 balconies. There is a kitchen/lounge,
bathroom
and 2 bedrooms that sleep a total of 6 adults. Large windows
and fans keep the rooms cool and comfortable. Traditionally,
as is ours, mexican hacienda's are made from brick and cement
and painted in bright colors.
KITCHEN
/ LOUNGE
The sitting area includes love seat, 2 chairs, dining table
and rug. The kitchen is fully equiped with new stove, fridge,
microwave, cupbards, island, dishes and utensils. Both purified
water and propane are delivered to the door twice per week.
Groceries can be bought at the store.
BEDROOMS
Upstairs there are 2 adult size bunks (sleeps
4) and a closet. Their is a more private room with a double
bed. Linens and mosquito netting are supplied for your comfort.
BATHROOM
There is a small bathroom with sink, toilet and shower.
BALCONIES
There are to balconies abovet he bedrooms that are accessed
by ladder. From the top balcony you can see over the tallest
palms and get a panoramic view of La Isla including the
bay, jungle, residence, cruise ships and city line. A great
palce to watch the sunset or relax with a pina colada under
the stars.
TV
/ DVD
A small TV and DVD are available and movies
can be rented on the island
or in town.
MAID
SERVICE
For a complete vacation, a maid can be hired for cleaning
and cooking. Service is very affordable.
TOUR
GUIDES
Tour guides can be very helpful in making sure you get the
most of a short trip.
